Awards:
My name is Dave Turner and I am the Behavioural Training therapist for Dogtech Blue Mountains, NSW.
My love of all animals, especially dogs, drew me to my career with Dogtech.
This year, 2009, has been a very exciting year for me. During our 2009 Dogtech Conference of the Stars, I was presented with the Dogtech Trainer of the Year Award. It has been such an honour to receive this prestigious award!In-home training: The majority of my time is taken up with visiting dogs and their owners in their homes. It is a wonderful feeling to help these owners overcome the problems they have been experiencing and seeing the final result of a happy, healthy dog–and ultimately a happy household.
Group training: I also hold group classes, from puppies to adult dogs. I believe that dogs benefit from this on-going training all their lives; people don’t stop learning just because we have left school. It is the same with dogs; they benefit from continuous stimulation just the same as we do. Owners and their dogs learn a lot in these classes–and we all have fun as well!!
Confidence: I get a real buzz seeing happy dogs socialising with each other at the end of the training course. And also from the big smiles & new level of confidence on their owners faces.
Happy solutions: Unfortunately, untreated doggy behaviour problems result in many dogs being put down these days, but there is an alternative to this drastic action. There are very few dogs who can’t be helped, they just need a fair chance. I have saved a number of dogs from being destroyed and have been some owners last resort before they would have taken the heartbreaking decision to have their beloved dogs destroyed. I feel so blessed that I can alter these creatures and their owner’s lives to a point where they can both live together happily again.
My dogs: I have two wonderful dogs of my own. Teddi is my chocolate toy Poodle and Casey is my Labrador retriever cross. I have Casey and Teddi assist in my group training classes to show owners that they too, can have a happy and confident dog by investing some time & effort. Our whole training experience is a positive, happy time for all involved.
Solutions for all doggy problems: My work covers all types of doggy problems from separation anxiety, inter-dog aggression, fear aggression, and all aspects of control relating to dogs. Whatever ‘doggy’ problem you may be suffering, I can help.
Easy to follow: Our Dogtech rewards based training programs are gentle, common sense methods, that are easy to follow whatever the owners age or life circumstances.
My goal: My goal is to continue helping owners and their dogs communicate better & live together in harmony for many years to come--I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

Testimonials:
We are the owners of a beautiful Golden Labrador who is 15 months old and we were beginning to wonder whether she was going to remain as part of our family as she was so unmanageable. She would jump all over us when we walked outside causing injuries; roar down the steps under our feet and nearly knock us over; if off the leash at the back of our property she would never come when called and it was her taking me for a walk, constantly pulling on the leash and going where she wanted to go and basically doing what she wanted to do. My main fear was her jumping all over visitors (especially my grandchildren) as she is approximately 30kg and very strong.
I must admit we were at our wits end until I called David from Dogtech and found a light at the end of the tunnel.
David has shown us where we had gone wrong with our puppy. We had basically treated her as our only child, allowing her to be in control of us–she had become the pack leader and in turn did as she pleased.
Over the last few weeks David has shown us how to manage our dog on walks, at home, with other people, and it has brought so much happiness and harmony back to our lives. Dee Dee is now a very enjoyable part of our day as she now obeys commands, enjoys her daily walk, plays in the river and returns to us when called, sits and stays, walks down the stairs after us, doesn’t run away, plays fetch and just seems a much happier dog.
I can’t thank David enough or recommend him more highly to antone who is experiencing problems with their beloved animal; the enjoyment we now have with our dog is wonderful.

Shelby, our beautiful 4 year old female Labrador, was so upset and sad after mate, our 6 year old Labrador, died in April this year. She started getting out from our property, and we assume this was to look for Perry. No matter what we did, she just dug under the fence and disappeared.
She had such a sad look in her eyes all the time.
We had tried everything, from keeping her inside, to a few weeks at the kennels, all to try and break the habit, but to no avail. We had thought of rehoming her, or sending her to be a drug detection dog as Shelby is very smart.
I then saw a brochure in the local pet shop for Dogtech and after ringing was put in contact with Dave. The magic dog whisperer! After only our first session we noticed a huge change in Shelby, she was calmer, her eyes seemed happier and now after having a couple of sessions we are able to leave her outside where she will sit very happily in a relaxed way. She has had one relapse, but generally I can not believe the difference in our gorgeous girl.
Thank you very much, Dave.
