Justin Jordan – Dog Training Queensland
Area: Brisbane North
Awards:
I am Justin Jordan, the Dogtech® Master Franchisee for Queensland. Our positive reinforcement training methods are recommended by Vets, Breeders, and Pet stores around Australia—often solving doggy problems that would otherwise result in disposal of the dog.
Experience: I have over 20 years experience in training dogs and running Obedience classes as an Instructor. I am considered a specialist in canine body language and I will share with you Dogtechs® unique Whisper Wise® training methods that ‘makes learning a pleasure’ and has been embraced by dog owners throughout Australia.
My simple yet effective positive reinforcement methods have saved many a dog and owner. I specialize in common doggy problems such as
*Barking dogs *Separation anxiety *Pulling on the lead when walking *Jumping *Aggression–-virtually all behavioural issues.
In-home training: I will come to you at a convenient time and develop an individual program customized for you and your best friend, which will maximize positive outcomes with fast results.
The Dogtech® program is based on the domestic dogs instinctive pack behaviour, using only positive reinforcement and rewards. No fear-based or harsh methods are used.
My In-home and Group sessions teach dog owners the value of communicating gently and intelligently with their pets, and how they can think in a ‘canine way’ for more successful interaction and problem solving.
Puppy Pre-schools: I also provide Puppy Pre-schools at numerous locations across Brisbane. I believe ‘puppy time’ is a very crucial stage of a dog’s development. Allowing puppies to socialize with other dogs will ensure they are happier, healthier, and more obedient pets.
During the course, puppies are exposed to all the basic obedience exercises such as: *Sit *Drop *Come when called, and *How to walk on the lead nicely.
There is also a major focus on common behaviour issues to make sure your puppy is on the right track for life such as the all important: *Toilet training *Chewing *problem barking *Jumping up, and *Basic good manners.
As well as my work with Dogtech® and my articles in Urban Trails Magazine, I also support Peninsular Animal Aid at Clontarf helping dogs that are up for adoption to overcome potential behaviour issues before they go to their new home.
Peninsular Animal Aid is a volunteer organization rescuing and re-homing hundreds of beautiful puppies and dogs each year.
What about your doggy problems? Whether you are planning on raising the perfect puppy, currently have a dog with problems, or a problem dog…… ...I can help.

I also regularly visit Brisbane area Nursing Homes with my dog, Lex.
Lex thoroughly loves the visits, especially all the attention and free ‘pats’ he receives. Lex also loves to show off his tricks to the Residents to earn a Whisper Wise Treat or two.
The Residents enjoy his visits and it is very rewarding for both of us to see their faces light up when they see him walking down the hallways and stopping for a ‘pat’.
Below is a brief slide-show of one of our recent visits. If you have a family member staying in a Brisbane Area nursing home that would appreciate a visit from Lex, please contact me.

Hi Justin,
I just wanted to give you some feedback from your visit on the weekend.
I am absolutely astonished at the change in Jedda’s behaviour in just three days from the changes that you suggested for us.
Whilst she wasn’t that keen on the loss of her chair, she has enthusiastically embraced the term “on your mat” and will sit quite contentedly for hours without the need for correction or a lead to be attached. ( I have still done the half hour a day with the lead anyway ).
She is attentive, keen to please, will sit and wait for instructions, and doesn’t bang on the screen door to come inside. We are also at the stage already where a quick “Ah” is met with “oops ok” rather than an “oh no, I’m falling apart”.
Most significantly, whilst walking today she completely ignored a man who was sweeping the footpath and a cyclist came up behind us and passed without a murmur from her.
Such a huge result, and so encouraging!
For the first time in months too, the lick granuloma on her leg is disappearing.
She is a much happier and contented dog, and I am certain that with time she will continue to improve in both behaviour and confidence.
Am I able to book a follow-up visit for Saturday, 11th December?
Thank you so much.
Regards, Beth Green

Dear Justin,
This note is to express our thanks and appreciation for the way in which you helped us with Gus.
When your first dog is a 56kg, four year old, male Rottweiler, without any social, behavioural, or obedience training it is always going to be a tough ask; when the dog is thought to have a questional temperament it is going to be even more difficult.
We took Gus when it became apparent that his original owners could not provide the care and attention he needed. After trying unsuccessfully for several months to find him a home we eventually came to the conclusion that we loved him and decided to keep him ourselves. That presented another range of problems as we lived in a small unit that did not allow pets. After boarding Gus with my mother, he was too boisterous for her; then with my brother, whose own dog had just undergone knee reconstruction, we eventually located a home that suited us. We took responsibility for Gus some six months ago and have experienced a number of challenges.
Boisterous is a nice way of saying he was practically uncontrollable. Gus demonstrated every characteristic and behaviour that made it exyremely difficult for antone to want to take him. Yet despite this, you saw the potential in him and convinced us to persevere. Thank-you!
Every day we are seeing improvements in Gus that are making it worthwhile. he advice, training and assistance you have provided ensured we learned the necessary skills to enable productive communication that improved not only our lives, but Gus’ immeasurably.
We would not hesitate to recomend you and your methods to anyone seeking to improve the relationship they have with their dog.
Again, please accept our sincere thanks.
Best regards, A & J –Norman Park
