Area: Canterbury, Bankstown, and Liverpool
Dogtech International Training Manager
Diploma certified: AAPDT Australian Association of Professional Dog Trainers
Awards:
My name is Les Treuer. I received my first dog back in 1972—an eight-week old corgi that I named Cindy. She was the love of my life and set me on the path that has led me to become the Dogtech® International Training Manager.
In-home & Group training: I personally look after clients in the inner west to southwest areas of Sydney. I run Puppy pre-schools, Group Obedience/Socializing classes, as well as In-home consultations to help dog owners get a better understanding of their sometimes awkward charges.
Yes, there are cures for all problem dogs, regardless of age, gender, or breed with the simple gentle methods we recommend and share with you.
Dogtech® International believes it is important to support our local communities. I participate in the Petpep program for children in schools and regularly call on elderly patients in hospitals with different dogs to brighten-up the patients day—believe it or not, the dogs seem to enjoy it as well. I have also been fortunate to receive fourteen awards from my local voluntary speaking club, Toastmasters, and enjoy mentoring new members of all ages.
My training philosophy: My philosophy on Dog training is based on knowledge, kindness, and consistency, which I will gladly share with my clients and their dogs to enable them to greatly improve their relationship.
My specialty: As dogs are a long-term commitment and part of the family, it is vital to have the correct training to bring the two together in order to enjoy the pleasures a dog can bring to the whole family.
That is really my specialty, and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals for your family and your dog.

January 2009
Dear Les,
I would like to thank you so much in helping us and guiding us to having a pleasurable on the way obedient Siberian Husky.
Tyson is so much part of our lives and to have him follow our commands is a major step for him and us. You met Tyson at 5 months old back in October 2008 and we thought Tyson was being a dog, but when you taught us that he is acting as our pack leader we had to change the way we were treating him.
Tyson was digging, taking cloths off the line, jumping up, and being the first one to greet our guest. He would sit on the lounge next to you and was getting all the attention he demanded (because he is so cute and well loved).
Tyson was so protective of me that no one could hug me or sit next to me — he would growl and when he was little he would only wake me up to take him outside to go to the toilet.
Taking Tyson for walks or shall I rephrase that Tyson taking us for walks was a job in itself — he would pull us along and stopping at every tree we came to ( at times it was like we needed to smell the tree with the look he would give us).
So we decided to do something as this dog is running our lives.
On one of our Vet visits we saw a pamphlet with DogTech® so we went home and rang the number. We got put on to you and we made our first appointment.
During the First stages of the training Tyson’s behaviour got worse before we saw improvement-- and he didn’t like the fact that we were taking over on being the pack leader (it was harder for me as I felt sorry for Tyson in the beginning), but we never looked back from the first meeting and here we are Tyson at 19 months old and we have a new dog ( we know we still have to always be on top as he is a very dominant dog, but at this stage we have taken a huge step forward and Tyson now will walk beside us with a loose lead, sits on command, we can sit him and make him stay as we walk around him and step away.
He comes to us when we call him (I still feel that’s a challenge at the moment so we keep a boat rope of 30ft tied to his collar when in the park) and finally I can say he DROPS DOWN ON COMMAND!!!! AND STAYS THERE WOW!
That was a big step for us as Tyson wouldn’t do that at the classes or in the home training.
Walking is know wonderful – we can walk with him and not stop at trees any more — and he will sit every time we stop at a curb.
So now at home my grass is growing – no more golf courses – and my washing now waits on the line until I take it off — he comes inside on our terms and he lays on the mat and stays there.
If he challenges us, we tether him to the mat. We have inside rules of where he can go and where he can’t unless we take him -- and he is improving every week.
Outside now, Tyson will just laze around in the yard soaking up the sun.
LES, YOU ARE OUR LIFE SAVER – THANK YOU.
I would like to tell your new clients, the best thing they have ever done was to call DogTech® as this is a key to having a happy dog; AND to follow your commands, keep going and don’t give up — you can have your dog on the way like Tyson.
If we could do it with a Husky, anyone can. You can still love them, but the (DogTech®) way they know – and they will respct you.
Thank you, Joanne Arkley

Dear Les Treuer,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and tell you how much I greatly appreciate your time training me skills, techniques, and to make Charlie more of an obedient dog.
You helped me understand my best friend Charlie and other dog’s behaviour – and why they do such things that frustrate us.
I am very happy with the end results, which my Charlie has become.
He has stopped jumping at me and other people; stopped digging holes; taking the washing off the line ( he has his moments though); and he can (now) perform to my commands.
Walking Charlie on the streets gives me pride and confidence because I know he will be an obedient dog, and of course it has made my walks more enjoyable.
Many people stop me and ask, ” how are you able to walk such a big dog?”, and it honestly makes me smile because I know if it wasn’t for DogTech® I wouldn’t be going on many long walks.
When I first got Charlie I had a different perspective about dog training and thought it’s just a waste of time and money, — now I know it was worth every penny and time.
I highly recommend dog training to any dog lovers and advise them to never give up on them because they are the best four legged friend to have in this world.
Again, Thank You Les for your help and friendship.
Kind regards, Fay and Charlie (Brown)

To: Whom it may concern
Neo is a Maltese X Poodle (Maltipoo). Before our meeting with Les, Neo was suffering from separation anxiety. He had difficulty being left alone and felt that he needed to be next to us every minute of the day.
Barking
Neo began to bark at all hours of the night and early morning, demanding attention. He was afraid to stay outside alone and would constantly bark for hours at a time until he was brought back inside.
Neo’s eating habits began to worsen as he would go a whole day without eating any food due to the separation anxiety.
Les introduces the DogTech®/ Whisper Wise® System
After our first meeting with Les we were taught how to show Neo that we were the leaders of the pack and began to see change in his behaviour.
As we continued to meet with Les we learned techniques and strategies that would help Neo overcome the aniexty.
Six weeks on Neo has become a completely different dog. He is able to stay outside all day without barking. He now sleeps during the night and has gained his appetite back.
Without the help and guidance of Les Treuer and DogTech®, we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy Neo and make him such a happy dog.
We would like to say a BIG ‘Thank You’ to Les for all that he has taught us and for the change that he has made towards Neo’s behaviour & Life.
THANK YOU SO MUCH , LES & DogTech®!
From the Maroun Family and Neo

Dear Les,
I wanted to write and thank you for everything you taught me.
As you know, I am the proud owner of a one year o;d Labrador, Peppa, who before meeting with you was driving me crazy.
She would attack me every time I tried to play with her, which left me covered in bruises. I had resorted to hanging my washing on racks inside as she would take the cloths off the line.
She was tearing anything she could find in the backyard apart, including the rose bush ( thorns and all! ) - and even her own dog house!!
I knew her behaviour was not aggressive, but I didn’t know what I could do to fix things. That’s when I contacted you. Having met with a trainer previously who did not help at all, I didn’t have high expectations.
But after one meeting, I knew you would be able to help us.
I had put Peppa’s behaviour down to boredom. But I had never thought of thinking of things from her perspective. You explained to me that Peppa was not bored, but she saw herself as the dominant one, the pack leader. And because I was not being submissive to her, it was confusing her and causing her to be stressed. After hearing this, it all fell into place.
After only 3 training sessions with you, where you taught me exercises that would bring Peppa down the pecking order she improved immensely. With my ongoing training, Peppa is almost a different dog.
Family and friends have commented on how much calmer she is and how much more she listens now. She also no longer attacks me at play time and does not take the washing off the line.
Once again, thank you so much.
I would highly recommend your services to anyone who is having troubles with their dogs.
Yours sincerely, Katie Ridgeway

Dear Mr Treuer
Thank you for your prompt reply. I attended your training session last night (22 November). I found it very positive and enlightening. This is my first dog. My son and his girlfriend purchased it. They were shopping and felt the need to bring him home. I’m the one who’s with him in the day. I want to ensure that I treat him correctly so in return he doesn’t bark, or cause disturbance, doesn’t bite us or others to cause harm.
My neighbour’s dogs bark constantly and this is stressful and unnecessary. My husband tapped him on the back and this seemed to work. I followed this example.
At your class I realised, and am happy to practise what you preach, that you do not touch the dog. I have subscribed to newsletters as I am keen to do the right thing and enjoy him for the next ?15 years or so.
I look forward to attending your next class so the whole family knows how to treat him correctly.
Kind regards
Lucy
