TO JOHN RICHARDSON

In January, I acquired from the Wagga Wagga dog pound a young, abandoned border collie-kelpie cross. The dog was uncontrollable. I took it to obedience classes but it made very little progress, and I came to the conclusion that it needed a different approach. 

I picked up from the Berrima Kennels, where I kennelled the dog one weekend, a flyer for Dogtech, an organization recommended by the proprietor of the kennels. I contacted John Richardson of Dogtech who agreed to come to my home and help me train my dog.

I have to say that I was amazed by the speed at which John got my dog under control and, perhaps more importantly, taught me how to train him. 

After two sessions with John and putting into practice what he taught me, I now have a delightful dog who obeys all the basic commands and, most importantly for me, walks quietly and obediently on a leash. I had other problems with the dog – he refused to eat properly – but John has a technique for curing eating problems that worked the day I put it into practice.

I cannot recommend John and his methods too strongly. I have also found his book, ‘The Dog Whisperer’, extremely useful.
